Description

A satisfying bowl of Cajun Chicken Alfredo Orzo, where creamy sauce envelops tender chicken and perfectly cooked orzo, seasoned with bold Cajun spices.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts (diced)
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for sautéing)
  • 1 cup diced onions
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup bell pepper (diced, optional)
  • 1.5 cups orzo pasta
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
  • Salt and Pepper (to taste)
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Warm the oil in a large pot over medium heat until it shimmers.
  2. Sauté the chicken, seasoning with Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper. Cook until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Set the chicken aside, leaving flavorful bits in the pot.
  4. Sauté the onions and garlic in the same pot until fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Stir in the bell pepper if using, cooking for another minute until slightly softened.
  6. Mix in the orzo, chicken broth, and heavy cream; bring to a gentle boil.
  7. Simmer on low, covered, for 10-12 minutes until orzo is tender, stirring occasionally.
  8. Finish by stirring in the cooked chicken and grated Parmesan until melted and creamy.
  9. Serve in bowls, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

Pre-chop vegetables for easier cooking. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days. Reheat gently with added broth for creaminess.
