Description

Delicious chicken wonton tacos featuring crispy shells and savory filling, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 15 Wonton wrappers
  • 1 lb Ground chicken
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Chili powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Oil, for frying
  • Avocado slices, for topping
  • Fresh cilantro, for topping
  • Lime wedges, for serving
  • Optional: Sriracha or sour cream, for topping

Instructions

  1. Prepare the filling: In a mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, cumin, garlic powder, chili powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix until fully incorporated.
  2. Cook the chicken: Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a splash of oil. Once hot, add the chicken mixture and break it up with a wooden spoon. Cook for about 6-8 minutes or until the chicken is fully cooked through.
  3. Assemble the wontons: Take a wonton wrapper and spoon a small amount of the chicken mixture into the center. Moisten the edges with a bit of water and fold the wrapper over, crimping the edges tightly to seal. Repeat until all filling is used.
  4. Fry the tacos: Heat oil in your skillet until hot. Carefully add a few wontons at a time, frying for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden and crispy. Use tongs to flip them gently.
  5. Serve with toppings: Once crispy, place the wonton tacos on a plate and top with avocado slices, fresh cilantro, and a squeeze of lime. For an added kick, consider a drizzle of sriracha or a dollop of sour cream.

Notes

Avoid overfilling the wontons to prevent bursting during frying. Customize toppings to suit your preferences.
