Description
Delicious chicken wonton tacos featuring crispy shells and savory filling, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 15 Wonton wrappers
- 1 lb Ground chicken
- 1 tsp Cumin
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- 1 tsp Chili powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Oil, for frying
- Avocado slices, for topping
- Fresh cilantro, for topping
- Lime wedges, for serving
- Optional: Sriracha or sour cream, for topping
Instructions
- Prepare the filling: In a mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, cumin, garlic powder, chili powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix until fully incorporated.
- Cook the chicken: Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a splash of oil. Once hot, add the chicken mixture and break it up with a wooden spoon. Cook for about 6-8 minutes or until the chicken is fully cooked through.
- Assemble the wontons: Take a wonton wrapper and spoon a small amount of the chicken mixture into the center. Moisten the edges with a bit of water and fold the wrapper over, crimping the edges tightly to seal. Repeat until all filling is used.
- Fry the tacos: Heat oil in your skillet until hot. Carefully add a few wontons at a time, frying for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden and crispy. Use tongs to flip them gently.
- Serve with toppings: Once crispy, place the wonton tacos on a plate and top with avocado slices, fresh cilantro, and a squeeze of lime. For an added kick, consider a drizzle of sriracha or a dollop of sour cream.
Notes
Avoid overfilling the wontons to prevent bursting during frying. Customize toppings to suit your preferences.
