Description

A delightful spin on classic sloppy joes with the rich flavors of French onion soup, featuring caramelized onions, seasoned ground beef, and melted Swiss cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 large onions, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add sliced onions and caramelize, stirring frequently for about 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
  3. Push onions to the side, add ground beef, and cook until brown, breaking it up with a spatula.
  4. Season with garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper; mix well.
  5. Spoon beef and onion mixture onto buns and top with Swiss cheese.
  6. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

Make ahead by caramelizing onions in advance. Customize toppings and use different types of cheese for variations.
