Description

Savor the unique taste of comforting cabbage burgers, made with juicy meat and crispy cabbage, baked to perfection.


Ingredients

  • 1 small head of cabbage, cut into thick slices (about ½-inch)
  • 1 ½ lbs ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or pepper jack)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 egg (optional, for binding)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the cabbage into thick rounds and brush both sides with olive oil. Arrange on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef or turkey, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, and egg if using. Mix thoroughly.
  4. Take a handful of the meat mixture and press it onto each cabbage slice to form patties.
  5. Bake in the oven for about 25 minutes until the meat is cooked through and the cabbage is tender.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top of each burger and broil for 3-5 minutes until melted and golden.
  7. Serve garnished with parsley or alongside your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

Prepare cabbage and meat mixture in advance for easy assembly. Utilize an air fryer for a quicker cooking option.
