- 1 small head of cabbage, cut into thick slices (about ½-inch)
- 1 ½ lbs ground beef or ground turkey
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- ½ cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or pepper jack)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 egg (optional, for binding)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Slice the cabbage into thick rounds and brush both sides with olive oil. Arrange on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef or turkey, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, and egg if using. Mix thoroughly.
- Take a handful of the meat mixture and press it onto each cabbage slice to form patties.
- Bake in the oven for about 25 minutes until the meat is cooked through and the cabbage is tender.
- Sprinkle shredded cheese on top of each burger and broil for 3-5 minutes until melted and golden.
- Serve garnished with parsley or alongside your favorite dipping sauces.
