- 1 package pork dumplings
- 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
- 2 cups mixed vegetables (carrots, spinach, and green onions)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: cooked chicken or shrimp
Instructions
- Sauté the aromatics: In a large pot, heat the sesame oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger. Sauté for about 1 minute, just until fragrant.
- Add the broth: Pour in the chicken or vegetable broth. Increase the heat and bring everything to a rolling boil.
- Unite the dumplings and veggies: Once boiling, add the pork dumplings and mixed vegetables to the pot. Cook according to the dumpling package instructions, usually around 5-7 minutes.
- Season the broth: Stir in the soy sauce and season it to taste with salt and pepper.
- Boost with optional protein: If desired, toss in some cooked chicken or shrimp and let them warm through.
- Serve with love: Ladle the soup into bowls and garnish with extra green onions, enjoying the comforting aromas.
Notes
For added convenience, prepare the broth and chop vegetables a day ahead. This soup can also be customized with different dumpling fillings or additional vegetables.
