Description

A comforting bowl of Potsticker Soup, featuring tender dumplings, vibrant vegetables, and an aromatic broth that warms the soul.


Ingredients

  • 1 package pork dumplings
  • 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 2 cups mixed vegetables (carrots, spinach, and green onions)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: cooked chicken or shrimp

Instructions

  1. Sauté the aromatics: In a large pot, heat the sesame oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger. Sauté for about 1 minute, just until fragrant.
  2. Add the broth: Pour in the chicken or vegetable broth. Increase the heat and bring everything to a rolling boil.
  3. Unite the dumplings and veggies: Once boiling, add the pork dumplings and mixed vegetables to the pot. Cook according to the dumpling package instructions, usually around 5-7 minutes.
  4. Season the broth: Stir in the soy sauce and season it to taste with salt and pepper.
  5. Boost with optional protein: If desired, toss in some cooked chicken or shrimp and let them warm through.
  6. Serve with love: Ladle the soup into bowls and garnish with extra green onions, enjoying the comforting aromas.

Notes

For added convenience, prepare the broth and chop vegetables a day ahead. This soup can also be customized with different dumpling fillings or additional vegetables.
