Description

Juicy Thai Peanut Turkey Burgers packed with flavors of ground turkey, aromatic spices, and a creamy peanut sauce, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/3 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha (optional)
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons warm water
  • 4 burger buns, toasted
  • 1 cup shredded carrot
  • 1 cup cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro leaves
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, green onions, cilantro, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, lime juice, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Use your hands to mix gently until everything just comes together; overmixing can lead to a tough patty.
  2. Divide the turkey mixture into four equal portions and shape each into uniform patties, ensuring they are about 3/4 inch thick.
  3. Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Lightly oil the surface to prevent sticking.
  4. Cook the patties for about 5 to 6 minutes per side, flipping only once until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the peanut butter, soy sauce, lime juice, honey, and sriracha if using. Gradually add warm water, mixing until the sauce becomes smooth and pourable.
  6. On each toasted bun, spread a generous portion of peanut sauce on the bottom half. Place one turkey patty on each bun and drizzle with extra sauce.
  7. Top with shredded carrots, cucumber slices, cilantro leaves, and red onion. Cover with the top bun.
  8. Serve immediately, accompanied by additional peanut sauce for dipping if desired.

Notes

Make-ahead tips: Prepare the turkey mixture a day in advance. Customize with different toppings like avocado or jalapeños.
