Description

A rich and flavorful Bolognese sauce that transforms any pasta dish into an extraordinary meal.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 carrot, diced
  • 1 celery stalk, diced
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil
  • Pasta of choice, cooked

Instructions

  1. Heat a generous splash of olive oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, diced carrot, and celery. Sauté until softened.
  3. Introduce the ground beef to the skillet. Brown fully.
  4. Pour in the crushed tomatoes along with tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Stir well.
  5. Turn the heat low and let the sauce simmer for at least 30 minutes.
  6. Once thick and luscious, ladle it over your favorite cooked pasta. Serve with Parmesan cheese.

Notes

For a richer flavor, blend in ground pork or add a splash of red wine. Make ahead for even better taste.
