- 4 large sweet potatoes
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Peel and slice the sweet potatoes into round slices about 1/2 inch thick.
- Melt the unsalted butter in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add the brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and salt; stir until well combined.
- Gently coat the sweet potato slices in the syrup mixture.
- Transfer the sweet potatoes to a greased baking dish.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
You can prepare the yams earlier in the day. Assemble them and keep covered in the fridge until ready to bake.
