Description

A warm and comforting dish featuring tender chicken and fluffy dumplings in a rich broth with vegetables.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb chicken breast, diced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 cups vegetables (carrots, peas, celery)
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, combine the diced chicken, chicken broth, vegetables, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Bring this medley to a gentle boil.
  2. While the broth dances with bubbles, mix flour, baking powder, milk, and melted butter in a separate bowl until it becomes smooth.
  3. With a spoon, drop generous spoonfuls of the dumpling dough into the boiling chicken mixture.
  4. Cover the pot and let it simmer gently for about 15 minutes until the dumplings puff up.
  5. Serve hot, ladling out generous portions into bowls.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. For longer storage, freeze for up to 2 months.
