- 1 cup buttermilk
- Zest of 1 orange
- 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
- 1 cup chocolate glaze
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease the bundt pan generously with butter or a non-stick spray.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Toss in the vanilla extract and mix until well combined.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter and sugar mixture, alternating with buttermilk.
- Gently fold in the orange zest and fresh orange juice.
- Pour the thick batter into the prepared bundt pan and smooth out the top.
- Bake for about 55-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the thickest part comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn it onto a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, drizzle with the chocolate glaze and let it set before serving.
Notes
For a gluten-free option, substitute all-purpose flour with a gluten-free blend. Make-ahead tip: Bake a day in advance for better flavor.
