Description

Indulge in crispy tortillas filled with tender chicken, cream cheese, and melty cheese for a delightful experience.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1012 small corn or flour tortillas
  • Oil for frying or cooking spray for baking

Instructions

  1. Combine the shredded chicken, softened cream cheese, shredded cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, and a pinch of salt and pepper in a mixing bowl.
  2. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) if baking, or heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat if frying.
  3. Place about two tablespoons of the chicken mixture in the center of each tortilla, roll tightly, and lay them seam-side down on a baking sheet or platter.
  4. Lightly spray the taquitos with cooking spray for the oven method and arrange on a baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden and crispy.
  5. If frying, carefully place a few taquitos in the hot oil and fry each for 3-4 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
  6. Remove from heat and serve hot with salsa, guacamole, or sour cream.
