Description

A deliciously crispy chicken dish drizzled with sweet and spicy hot honey, combining Southern comfort with gourmet flair.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 skinless, boneless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 12 tablespoons red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken in buttermilk for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  2. Prepare the coating by mixing flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  4. Dredge the marinated chicken in the flour mixture.
  5. Fry each piece of chicken for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Make the hot honey sauce by warming honey, red pepper flakes, and apple cider vinegar in a saucepan.
  7. Combine the fried chicken with the hot honey just before serving.

Notes

Marinate overnight for best results. Consider using an air fryer or oven for a lighter version.
