A delightful Crispy Fish Sandwich featuring perfectly fried fish fillets, a homemade tartar sauce, and a fluffy brioche bun.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 fish fillets (cod, haddock, or tilapia)
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup flour (whole wheat recommended)
  • 2 eggs (beaten)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 brioche buns
  • Cheese slices (optional, cheddar or American)
  • Homemade tartar sauce
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)

Instructions

  1. Season the fillets with salt and pepper.
  2. Prepare the breading station with flour, eggs, and breadcrumbs.
  3. Dredge each fillet in flour, then dip in eggs, and coat with breadcrumbs.
  4. Heat oil in a cast iron skillet over medium heat until shimmering.
  5. Fry the fillets for about 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown.
  6. Toast the brioche buns in a separate pan until golden.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding hot sauce or fresh herbs. Make ahead by prepping fillets and breading them early.
