Description

A rich and decadent chocolate cake with roasted pistachios that offers a delightful contrast of flavors and textures.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup pistachios, chopped
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. Cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until fluffy—about 3-5 minutes.
  3. Add the eggs one by one, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Mix the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Combine the dry mix with the creamed mixture, alternating with the milk.
  6. Fold in the chopped pistachios and chocolate chips using a rubber spatula.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack before slicing.

Notes

This cake holds well and can be made a day in advance. Drizzle with chocolate ganache or top with whipped cream for added indulgence.
