- 8 ounces pasta (e.g., elbow macaroni)
- 1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
- 1 cup shredded cheese (e.g., cheddar)
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add the diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion softens.
- Stir in the ground beef, breaking it up until browned.
- Drain any excess fat from the skillet.
- Mix in the tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper, then let it simmer for 10 minutes.
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions.
- Combine the cooked pasta with the meat sauce and half of the shredded cheese in a bowl.
- Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish and top with the remaining cheese.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until the cheese is melted and golden brown.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
