Description

Indulge in the warm comfort of homemade French toast, featuring a fluffy, golden crust, rich egg flavor, and delightful hints of cinnamon and vanilla.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 slices of thick bread (brioche, challah, or your choice)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons butter (for frying)
  • Maple syrup (to serve)
  • Fresh fruit (berries, bananas, or peaches)

Instructions

  1. Whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon in a mixing bowl until smooth.
  2. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and melt a small pat of butter.
  3. Dip each slice of bread in the egg mixture, soaking both sides slightly.
  4. Place the coated bread slices onto the hot skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Serve hot, drizzled with maple syrup and topped with fresh fruit.

Notes

Make-ahead tip: Prepare the egg mixture the night before and store in the fridge. Alternatively, use an air fryer for a lower-fat version.
