Description

Indulge in this creamy, luscious Homemade Shrimp Alfredo, featuring perfectly cooked fettuccine drenched in a velvety garlic sauce and plump, juicy shrimp.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz fettuccine pasta
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the fettuccine: In a large pot, boil salted water and cook the fettuccine following the package instructions. Once al dente, drain and set aside, drizzling with a touch of olive oil to prevent sticking.
  2. Sauté the shrimp: In a large skillet, heat olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the shrimp and cook until they turn pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side. Once perfectly cooked, remove them from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Prepare the sauce: In the same skillet, melt the remaining butter. Add the minced garlic, cooking for about a minute until fragrant but not browned.
  4. Bring it all together: Pour in the heavy cream and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Stir in the Parmesan cheese, ensuring it melts completely while adding salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Combine pasta and shrimp: Toss the cooked fettuccine and shrimp into the sauce, ensuring each strand is beautifully coated.
  6. Serve and enjoy: Garnish with freshly chopped parsley, and dig into this dreamy dish.

Notes

For a unique twist, try grilling the shrimp or adding sautéed vegetables like spinach or sun-dried tomatoes.
