Description
A delightful twist on a classic dish, these bowls combine juicy ground beef with sweet and spicy hot honey served over rice or quinoa.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
- 1/4 cup hot honey
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooked rice or quinoa (for serving)
- Chopped green onions (for garnish)
- Vegetables (like bell peppers or broccoli, optional)
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the ground beef, breaking it apart with your wooden spoon as it cooks. Allow it to brown evenly, about 5-7 minutes.
- If there’s excess fat in the skillet after the beef is browned, carefully drain it off.
- Pour in the hot honey, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes.
- Prepare your bowls by scooping cooked rice or quinoa into each, topping generously with the beef mixture.
- Finish with a sprinkle of chopped green onions and any additional vegetables. Enjoy!
Notes
Make-ahead tips: Prepare the beef mixture in advance and refrigerate for up to three days. Can substitute proteins as desired.
