Description

Rich and buttery cookies infused with creamy chocolate, warm spices, and a hint of heat from cayenne pepper, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, and salt in a separate bowl.
  4. Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture gradually, mixing until just combined.
  5. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  6. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll into balls, arranging them on a lined baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are set and tops are slightly cracked.
  8. Allow to cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Use softened butter for better texture. Consider adding mix-ins like chocolate chips or nuts for extra flavor.
