- 6 large eggs
- 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
- 1/4 cup white granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 cup cream (or half-and-half)
- 3 cups mixed berries
- Pure maple syrup and mixed berries for serving
- Butter (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare your casserole dish by spraying it with baking spray.
- Combine the eggs, maple syrup, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt in a large mixing bowl and whisk until smooth.
- Add milk and cream into the mixture while whisking to blend.
- Slice the croissants in half and layer them in the baking dish, alternating with mixed berries.
- Pour the custard mixture over the layered croissants and berries.
- Cover with plastic wrap and chill overnight in the fridge.
- Bake for 30 to 40 minutes until golden brown and set.
Notes
Using day-old croissants enhances texture. Consider mixing in chocolate chips or nuts for variation.
