Description

Elevate your classic grilled cheese with delicious mozzarella and fresh basil pesto for a flavorful gourmet experience.


Ingredients

  • 4 slices sourdough bread
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil pesto

Instructions

  1. Heat a heavy-bottomed skillet over medium heat.
  2. Butter one side of each slice of sourdough.
  3. Spread a generous amount of basil pesto on the unbuttered side of one slice.
  4. Add mozzarella cheese slices on top of the pesto.
  5. Assemble the sandwich with the other slice of bread, buttered side facing up.
  6. Grill the sandwich until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  7. Serve hot, sliced in half, with extra pesto if desired.

Notes

Adding garlic powder to the butter enhances flavor. Store pesto in the fridge for up to a week.
