Description

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, chopped (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with colorful liners.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Combine wet ingredients: add the eggs, whole milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
  4. Incorporate boiling water gradually into the batter.
  5. Fill cupcake liners about two-thirds full with the batter.
  6. Bake for 18-20 minutes, testing for doneness with a toothpick.
  7. Cool in the pan for 5-7 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
  8. Prepare the frosting by blending peanut butter, softened butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until fluffy.
  9. Frost the cooled cupcakes generously with the peanut butter frosting.
  10. Top with chopped Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.
