Description

This spicy pulled chicken is a savory and comforting dish perfect for gatherings, made in a slow cooker with tender chicken soaked in smoky barbecue sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds chicken breasts
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Place chicken breasts in the crockpot.
  2. Mix the sauce in a bowl, combining barbecue sauce, chicken broth, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Pour the mixture over the chicken, ensuring it’s well-coated.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
  5. Shred the chicken using two forks, mixing it with the sauce.
  6. Serve on soft buns or with desired sides.

Notes

For a healthier option, replace barbecue sauce with low-sugar variant. Can be made a day in advance and stored in the fridge.
