- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×13-inch baking pan by greasing and flouring it.
- Cream the butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs, milk, and vanilla, mixing until just combined.
- Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl, then gradually add to the wet ingredients, stirring gently.
- Prepare the streusel by mixing brown sugar, cinnamon, and nuts in a small bowl.
- Layer half the batter in the pan, sprinkle half the streusel, then add the remaining batter and top with the rest of the streusel.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool slightly before serving warm, ideally with coffee.
